I’m Eoin (pronounced Owen for those of you who weren’t sure!). As you may have guessed, I’m from Ireland. I moved over to Sydney in 2010 and since then have gotten married (Irish girl) and we’ve had a baby (Aussie girl). I’m a chartered professional engineer spending my 9-5 designing bridges and other structures. Engineering has been the perfect choice of career for me as I’ve been able to use the maths I learned in school and college and help create some major structures which I can be proud of.
Throughout school and college I found that there were some people who were naturally great at maths. Unfortunately I wasn’t one of them. However I did have an interest in the subject and enjoyed the feeling of success when I was able to solve a challenging problem. I worked hard at the subject and got some amazing results. I was particularly proud when I achieved an ‘A’ grade in my Leaving Cert (equivalent of HSC) Maths exam.
In university I continued studying maths which was a major part of my engineering course. This included advanced calculus, algebra, trigonometry, probability and more. In addition, I also started tutoring other students, helping them to achieve exam grades they never thought they were capable of before.
I have therefore decided to set up this site so that I can help others to better learn HSC maths and achieve their goals.
I hope you find this site useful and if you have any comments or queries then please contact me.
